#3 spark plug blew out. Common on old Fords. Shop attempted fix, but said they couldn’t do it. Quoted 4k to pull engine and replace cylinder heads - charged 160 for looking at the vehicle. After an hour on YouTube, we bought a bore scope and a calvan kit on Amazon (aprox $300) Bored the hole, rethreaded the hole, put in the insert, and reassembled. Total time spent 2hours under the hood. Quite a bit different than $4k Staff was SUPER nice though. I very much appreciated the folks at the front counter. We are NOT mechanical.. but this really was easy. Maybe a one off experience, everyone has bad days I suppose.

Quite a bit different than $4k+ We are absolutely NOT mechanical.. We don't have some super tool box in our garage, and are reluctant to work on our lawn mower. I felt scammed here. Maybe all you 5 star reviews have thousands of extra dollars to drop on stupid stuff, but we don't. We went to a highly rated place for help and they tried to upsell us in such a fantastic and incredible way that it's almost hard to comprehend. I guess you picked the right town to set up the shakedown. Staff was SUPER nice though. I very much appreciated the folks at the front counter.
