I got my brakes replaced a while back, including pads and rotors at Parker Automotive. Pros - They got my repairs done quickly, and also gave me a lift home and back to the shop which was convenient. Cons - They dramatically overcharged me, both in parts and labor. After I researched the parts online they used, I found they charged me 1.5x-2x the price. Their labor was probably charged 'by the book' at 1.5 hours, and I know professionals generally can replace brakes within 30-45 minutes - so I overpaid both per hour (labor is $138/hr), and they charged me 90 minutes. If you're content paying about $600 for a straight forward brake job, this is the right place for you. If that seems like too much, it is - and you may want to consider somewhere else. They won't sell you what you don't need, when they charge so much extra that they don't need to.
Dear Customer - Thank you for your honest review of Parker Automotive. It was our pleasure to give you a lift home and back while completing repairs on your vehicle, and we hope the repairs were completed to your satisfaction. We are also very sorry to hear that you are not happy with the price of our brake repair. While it is difficult for us to change pricing based on customer concerns of pricing made after the repairs are approved, completed and the vehicle is picked up; there are several things to consider when pricing is a challenge. The do-it-yourself price of any project will always be considerably less cost than paying a professional. As with all professional automotive repair facilities, Parker Automotive is a parts and labor business, which is in part how we can offer a 36 month/36,000 mile parts and labor nationwide warranty. We do typically charge by the book, as do all professional automotive repair facilities and professional service providers in general. In order to accurately determine our price is too high, an analysis of what other professional repair facilities in the area would charge for the same repair, as well as length and terms of warranty would need to be performed.
