Took my car in for an oil change. That was satisfactory. I was presented with a list with 3 items in the middle column that was not urgent but should be looked at soon. The first item was my power steering fluid. PA told me it was brown and should be taken care of soon. I informed them that it was recently flushed with in the last couple of months. They came back and told me it was in the reservoir that it was brown. I’ve yet to verify this. The second item on the middle column was my air filter. I informed them this was also something I had done a couple months ago and they came back and told me the outside of it was dusty. The third item was my AC. They had a readout temperature of 50°F. I was told it needed to be considerably lower in temperature which is fine, but when I left I noticed the AC was not even turned on so I don’t know if the temperature reading was accurate. Unfortunately it felt like to me they are told to mark a couple of items in the middle column to boost sells. This may not be the case, but considering I had just taken care of a couple of these items before bringing my car into the shop it does make me suspicious. Hopefully The next time I take my car into another shop there will be some merit to Parker Automotive told me.
Hi Peter, we appreciate all feedback we receive from our customers as it is helpful to know how we are doing. We perform a courtesy inspection on every vehicle that comes in, and while some items are recommended per mileage, the inspection is purely visual. The best thing we can do for you would be to take the time to show you what we found with the power steering fluid and the A/C. We are always more than happy to help by answering any questions and encourage you to reach out to us. Thank you!
